The JLL R200 is one of the most popular magnetic rowing machines on the market. Magnetic resistance rowers are typically competitively priced and appeal to people who are seeking a quieter rower for their home workouts.The JLL R200 ticks both of these boxes.
It comes with 10 levels of resistance with the top one providing a very tough workout if you are able to row at this level for a sustained period.
The LCD monitor has 7 functions and displays total count, calories, count/min, count, distance, time and scan mode. The monitor is a no frills display that offers the basic functionality that you expect to see on any decent rower. The screen is not backlit so you will have to ensure that you are rowing in a bright room or space if you want to use the monitor.
The foam handle and foam filled seats make for comfortable rowing and the seat glides on the metal frame smoothly. The frame is solid and robust which makes this quite a durable machine which I feel is the biggest problem with many of the other mid priced rowing machines on the market.
The JLL R200 also has a catch release which allows you to easily fold the machine in half for storage. There are also guide wheels which allow you to easily transport the machine if necessary.

This is a great machine for novice rowers who are looking to begin rowing but who are understandably reluctant to hand over cash for a premium machine like the Concept2.
Overall, this is a fairly solid machine that is capable of delivering a solid workout consistently. It is well designed and constructed and the only real complaint I had was that I had to order a new handle cover as the original had worn over time. The good news is that JLL have an excellent UK customer service team and ordering a new part is a very straight forward process.
In my opinion this is the best magnetic resistance rower available on the market today.
